Francisco
Mendoza has been an elementary school art teacher for
over 25 years and has taught and nurtured generations
of Pilsen students. He and his students have created beautiful
murals at Cooper School, Jose Clemente Orozco Community
Academy, and throughout the Pilsen and South Chicago communities.
In April 2010, Francisco Mendoza was diagnosed with multiple
myeloma, cancer of the bone marrow. In September 2010
the Chicago Public Schools unjustly fired Francisco. He
is without a job, facing a dangerous illness, and has
to pay large fees to keep COBRA health insurance. Francisco
is an artist who has given so much to our children. Now
we have an opportunity to give back.

To
commemorate the Games
Green Bay Packers
January 23, 2011
Tom
Collentine of Wisconsin
requested a custom made scarf
designed with special colors.
His
favorite lama is shorn each year
and of course, it shall be his choice
of scarf material.
Story
of the Green Bay Packer Scarf - February 1, 2011
I am proud to have designed this special scarf for a
Wisconsin fan who wants to wear this very special scarf.
It is made of special processed yarn from the shearing
of his very own beloved pet Lama. Good luck!
May the best team win! Happy Super Bowl 2011!
Today with the snow blizzard on hand, it took me an hour
and a half to walk through this snow. This same route,
usually takes 20 minutes to the post office, but today,
winter was at it's height with unimaginable snow and winds.
With no taxi cabs available, I was determined to deliver
this special custom made scarf to a Green Bay Packer fan
who enthusiastically awaited the Superbowl game this
coming Sunday.
In bitter cold, I was off to the post office and nearly
froze my face off. High powered winds just tore into
my eyes and up my nose with freezing pellets of
ice and snow which rendered me numb.
After arriving to the post office, the attendant stated
that the airplanes were grounded.
What a surprise, I am hoping this carefully boxed
scarf arrives in time for this fan to watch
his Superbowl game? !

--Quilt
story--
When
I was a young girl, I stared at
wall hangings and brightly colored rugs
and with my eyes would repeatedly trace
the figures before falling asleep.
I would start at one corner and artfully follow
the lines by tracing a path with my eyes.
I was peacefully mesmerized. As I examined
tiny details and daydreamed, I stared at the
heavy thick black lines and imagined I was there
in another fantasy land. It was a way of relaxing . . . |
. . . and clearing my mind before seriously
taking on another task or errand. With this quilt,
I offer it's viewer a chance to return to innocence
and promote imagination by easily identifiable
animal and budding life forms. I love images
with black lines and repetitious patterns which
attract attention. As an Artist, I created
whimsical images by sewing layers of
appliqued fabrics and machine stitching them
together. This colorful theme brings life
and fun into any room setting.

Book -- One
of a Kind by Sharon DeLaCruz |
November
19-20, 2009 |
About
this book
The Artist writes how and what
she conquered on her 54th birthday
described in her book chapter titled,
Conquering 54 Traumas.
See page 54 to see how she
found the pathway to an upset-free
lifestyle!
Rejuvenate
your life
The author chimes, the less stress
in one's life, the younger we become.
Don't you remember the days
when everything was seen through
the eyes of innocence and we
felt so care-free?
A
bedside companion
This book covers four decades
of a young girl evolving into womanhood.
Sharon began sketching at the
early age of 8, because she had
yet to learn her writing skills. |
One
of a kind publication
You are welcome to autograph
this artful traveling story book
about the wonderful transformation
of Sharon DeLaCruz's life.
See
where you stand
Reading this four part (chapters)
in this book evaluates where, what,
or how you have used your life and
is a fascinating self-help, art and
psychology book.
See
behind the scenes
Fully illustrated with drawings
130 pages of wisdom and
experiences from behind the scenes
of a truly transformed life.
See
how she did it
The book opens with a
dedication and a twig of green
garden flowers. As the reader
advances, each page opens
to the next step into the Art world of
her journey. It is a wonderful colorful
pathway each step of the way,
revealing events and special
thoughts that molded
her into what she is today.
Dreams
come through
This book will inspire you with
courage to step-up to do what ever
you want to do in your lives; but have
not taken the actions to achieve
dreams and goals in life.
Sharon
DeLaCruz
Chooses Success,
and did not give-up.
